Cii Youth Foundation November Report 2011

 

  

1.      Summer Camp in Villaliza, East Rand - hosting students from the area. 2 days of educational, recreational and empowerment activities. This programme will be taking place on 10-11 December 2011. 

2.      ANC Youth League – Central Lenasia Branch meets with Cii Youth Foundation. 

3.      Cii Youth Foundation was invited to interact in a forum organised by Gauteng department of education and Faith based organisations sector partnership addressing Satanism and other social evils and challengers youth are facing at schools.  

4.      Cii Youth Foundation & Jami’ah Sheikh Zakariyya presents it’s

monthly Newsletter – Sautush Shubaan - Voice of the Youth

Report Back: 17 October 2011 – 08 November 2011

 

1.       The annual Cii Youth Foundation Summer Camp programme has been finalised for 11-12 December 2011. The camp will be taking place in Villaliza, East Rand. 50 students will be hosted over the 2 days. All meals and accommodation will be provided. The programme will focus on the 3 concepts of the Cii Youth Foundation programme offering the youth Recreational, Empowerment and educational programmes. Preparations are underway.

2.       ANC Youth League meets with the Cii Youth Foundation. The main discussion was based on a partnership between the two institutions in providing development programmes for the youth. A workshop and orientation programme has been scheduled for Sunday, 13 November 2011 at the Masjidus Saliheen Hall, Ext 13, Lenasia. 

4.       Cii Youth Foundation was invited to interact in a forum organised by the Gauteng  Department of Education. The programme was organised by the department with faith based organisations. Cii Youth Foundations contributions were noted and further discussions will be held in this month with the Gauteng Department of Education and members from the Faith Based Organisations. A task team is being set up in the Sedibeng area to take the processes forward.  The meeting proved to be a success and a positive move in contributing to youth development programmes in the schools.

5.       The names of the finalists that will be participating in the 33rd King Abdul Aziz International Quraan Memorisation Competition in December 2011 has been submitted to the Saudi Embassy. 3 students from South Africa will be making their way to Makkah Mukarramah, Inshaallah.

The participating students are:

Muhammad Saud Bemath, Gauteng, South Africa

Imraan Malik, Western Cape, South Africa

Hafez Huzaifah Mayet, Kwazulu Natal, South Africa

6.       Cii Youth Foundation is in the process of launching the Cii Youth Foundation Academy. Logistics and financial costs are delaying the launch of this programme. We humbly request for your duas that this project be launched in January 2012.

7.       Qasim of the Lakefield Youth Forum arranged a meeting with Cii Youth Foundation. There were many talking points. Cii Youth provided the Lakefield Youth Forum with advice and a strategy to be adopted in ensuring that the Lakefield Youth Forum runs its activities consistently. An M.O.U. between these two organizations will be signed soon.

8.       The East Rand Project is reaching its first year. Alhamdulillah, through the efforts of Ml Shakeer Seedat, much has been achieved. A powerpoint of the comprehensiveness of this initiative has been concluded. A programme for 2012 is in the process of being finalized. We humbly request your duas for the success of this initiative. 9.       Cii Youth Foundation launched its nursery and pre-school Islaamiyaat programme. The programme is being well received by the pre-schools. The schools visited include: Rainbow kids, Millennium  pre-school, At Tauheed Center, Nurul Islam nursery and pre-school, Al-Aqsa primary school, Little Folks, Shining Stars, Little Bambinos and Little Bo-Beep. The programme will be commencing in some of these schools in 2012.

10.   Cii Youth Foundation is planning to start up learning centers, InshaAllah. A learning center will offer learners: afternoon maktab classes for nursery and pre-school learners, maktab education for learners who attend private schools in and around Lenasia, skills development programmes, Arabic classes, programmes for girls and self-development programmes. The 1st center will be established in Lenasia, Ext 13. Plans for this project is presently being drawn up.

11.   Cii Youth Foundations Eid-ul-Adha message was echoed by Shaakirah Dawood and published in the Rising Sun before Eid.

12.   A brief school visit was made to Central Islamic School in Laudium. This was a courtesy visit after the Mega Youth Event 2011 was hosted at the school earlier in October 2011. 

13.   Cii  Youth Foundation and Sheikh Zakariyyah publishes it’s very own monthly newsletter called: Sautush – Shubaan. Voice of the Youth. The newsletter is prepared by the students of the Darul Uloom. The articles are also shared with the public on First things First on Channel Islam International weekly. Thus far 4 editions have been printed with an initial distribution of 1000 copies monthly, Free. The newsletter covers a host of articles and interesting reading for the youth. Thus far the themes has been:

Issue 1: Score that winning goal. The month of Ramadhaan

Issue 2: Abdullah and Eid-ul-Fitr 

Issue 3: Haj 1432 (to be released soon)

Issue 4: Qurbaani. This edition will also include study and exam skills

 Issue 5: Music

14.   Regular updates of all Cii youth programmes on our website: www.ciiyouth.com and Facebook.

15.   The Grand Finale of the Quraan Tilaawah Competition of the LMA took place from

 18 – 20 October 2011. Cii Youth Foundation contributed to the format and structure of the competition. Alhamdulillah, the programme was a success.

16.   Preparations of the Cii Youth Foundation Year Planner will be finalised by 23 December 2011 for the coming year, 2012, InshaAllah. 

17.   Cii Youth Foundation met with Harvey World Travel, Lenasia office. Discussions of next year’s Umrah and other initiatives’ for youth travel were discussed.
